Yulonda MarLou King, 71, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Monday, April 8, 1940, in Concordia, Kansas, the daughter of Alvin and Sylvia P. (Campbell) Wehmeier. She departed this life at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at her home surrounded with love and family.
On July 9, 1959, Yulonda was united in marriage to Don W. King in Glasco, Kansas.
Yulonda was a homemaker. She was a member of, ABWA, PTA, Eastern Star, Red Hat Society, and Bridge Club of Pleasant Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Don of Pleasant Hill; two daughters Kelleen K. Rice and her husband Steven of Kansas City, Missouri, and Pamela L. Huish and her husband Stephen of Middletown, New Jersey; four grandchildren, Matthew J. Buffon of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Kathryn G. Buffon of Kansas City, Missouri, Kaylin R. Huish and Brett S. Huish both of Middletown; other relatives and a host of many friends.
Cremation has been accorded.
A celebration of Yulonda’s life was held Friday, May 6, 2011, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home. Inurnment was in the Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Grain Valley
Flower girls were Kathryn G. Buffon and Kaylin R. Huish. Honorary pallbearers were Matthew Buffon, Jerrall Hayes, Brett Huish, Bob McClagan, Pete Sheehan, Tom Stock, Bill Vansickle, and Bob Willis.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
