William Hugh Wilson II, was born December 11, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of William Hugh and Nancy Elizabeth (Roberts) Wilson Sr. He departed this life Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Falcon Heights Health and Rehabilitation Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
William attended school in Harrisonville and Ruskin Heights before moving to Pleasant Hill. He was a 1963 Pleasant Hill High School graduate. He later attended the University of Central Missouri and the Kansas City Business School for accounting.
While in high school he played clarinet in the band and also enjoyed playing the piano and twelve string guitar. He was a member of the United Methodist Church when he was young, sang in the church choir - often performing duets with his mother. They even recorded an album together and sold the records as a fundraiser for the church. William participated in the Boy Scout program, with his dad serving as his Scoutmaster. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.
After college, William became a member of the Twelve Tribes Communities, who pattern their lives after the early Hebrew Christians. Willaim chose the Hebrew name of Yeshayah for himself. It means “God is Salvation”/”God will Save”. He left Missouri and lived in Berkeley, California for several years; many years in Island Pond, Vermont; briefly in Chattanooga, Tennessee; Oakland, California; St. Joseph and Warsaw, Missouri; and finally, Manitou Springs, Colorado. While with the Twelve Tribes, he was a bread baker, tried his hand at pottery, became their mailman, and taught history. He absolutely loved the mountains! He enjoyed leather crafting, the sport of fencing, and traveling.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Nancy, and two infant sisters, Corliss Jane Wilson and Patricia Mae Wilson
