Vicki Mehrer

Vicki Lynn Mehrer, 59, Greenwood, Missouri, was born Saturday, September 6, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of A.C. & Betty Hibdon. She departed this life Saturday, March 17, 2007 at her home.

On July 3, 1964, Vicki was united in marriage to William Irving Mehrer in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Vicki was a Rural Letter Carrier for the Lee's Summit branch of the USPS.

More than anything, Vicki enjoyed spending time with her family, all of whom she loved. She passes her passion and love for family to each of her children and grandchildren. She viewed life as an "exciting adventure" and always felt blessed to have the "best kids a mother could ever ask for."

Vicki loved the sunshine, spending time outdoors and growing things. She loved to quilt and crochet. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. And she liked to work crossword puzzles. But she enjoyed each of these activities most when surrounded by family.

Before leaving this life for the next, Vicki wrote these departing words to her family: "I'll be with you in your hearts and minds forever, I love you all so much."

She was preceded in death by her mother.

She is survived by her husband Irving Mehrer, Greenwood; 5 sons, Rick & wife Sharyn Mehrer of Rolla, David & wife Lisa Mehrer, Lee's Summit, Paul & wife Jill, Phoenix, Arizona, Aaron & wife Brandy Mehrer, Lee's Summit, and Jeremy Mehrer, Greenwood; 1 daughter, Dana Mehrer, Lee's Summit; 7 Grandchildren (Zachary, Tristan, Jacob, Ryan, Elaina, McKenna and Nathan); father A.C. Hibdon, Greenwood; 2 sisters, Susie Rhode, Greenwood and Cheryl & husband Wayne Cowley, Lee's Summit, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill. Pastor Jeff Brinkman officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Casket bearers were Aaron Meher, David Mehrer, Jeremy Mehrer, Paul Mehrer, Rick Mehrer, and Zachary Mehrer.
