Timothy William Taylor, 57, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born July 31, 1966, in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, the son of Charlies W. “Woody” Taylor and Sharon L. (Reed) Taylor. He departed this life Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
Tim attended Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas through his junior year but transferred to Harrisonville High School, graduating in 1985.
On August 13, 1994, he was united in marriage to Melissa Dawn Snyder in Pleasant Hill.
Tim was employed as a Skilled Laborer and was a member of Union Local #264. He worked for O’Donnell & Son Construction, Superior Bowen, A.P.A.C, and most recently for Kansas City Streetcar Constructers. He still holds the record at O’Donnell and Son for the longest run of curbing at 6100 feet in one day. He and Melissa also owned and operated Mel’s Food Wagon. He was a member of the Strasburg Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing (when he had time), and was an avid NASCAR, Royals and Chiefs fan. He also enjoyed time at the lake, grilling and smoking BBQ, gardening, as well as mowing his yard. Most important was being Poppy to his grandsons, Braxton and Brody.
Tim was preceded in death by his mother, and stepfather, Sharon and Ron Previtt, and his stepmother, Cynthia Taylor, who passed the day before him.
He is survived by his wife Melissa Taylor of Pleasant Hill; three children, Anthony Taylor of Hollister, Missouri, Kylee (and Landon) Schroeder of Holden, Missouri, and Cole Taylor of Pleasant Hill; two grandsons, Braxton Schroeder and Brody Schroeder; his father “Woody” Taylor of Peculiar, Missouri; one brother, Keven (and Trisha) Taylor of Louisburg, Kansas; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Monday, February 5, 2024, at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the funeral home. Pastor Preston Sanders officiated. Interment was in the Staley Mound Cemetery. Casket bearers were Nelson Eddy, Norm Conant, Duke Diamond, Pete Blankenship, Dale Carter, and BJ Snyder. Honorary casket bearers were Corby Cline, Joe O’Donnell, and Cody Fredrick.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Staley Mound Cemetery and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
