Thomas “Tom” Charles Heier, 85, of Raymore, formerly of Pleasant Hill, was born October 1, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Charles Joseph and Grace Mary (Meiners) Heier. He departed this life Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the Research Medical Center in Kansas City, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Tom was a 1955 Bishop Hogan High School graduate. He later attended St. Benedict’s in Atchison, Kansas.
On June 20, 1959, he was united in marriage to Patricia Lynn Hensevelt in Kansas City. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage together.
Tom shared ownership and operation of the Allied Lithographing Company, Inc. in downtown Kansas City for 44 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the St. Bridget Catholic Church, Pleasant Hill and the Knights of Columbus, Sons of Mercy Council #3113. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards (especially a good game of pitch), watching all sports including the Chiefs, Royals, and KU Basketball, and spending time at their lake cabin, and he always enjoyed a cold beer. He was most fond of time spent with family and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his older sister.
Tom is survived by his wife, Patricia of Raymore; four children; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one sister; and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation has been accorded.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, May 10, 2024, at the St. Bridget Catholic Church, Pleasant Hill. Father James Hart officiated. Private inurnment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
