Seth Albia McClure, Jr., 74, of Butler, Missouri, was born Monday, January 1, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Seth Albia and Naomi George (Bailey) McClure. He departed this life Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the Louisburg Healthcare & Rehab LLC.

On May 9, 1953, Seth was united in marriage to Dorothy Lea Grigsby in Kansas City, Missouri.

Seth was a salesman for several industrial tool companies. He was a member of Peculiar United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two sisters Norma Crane and Alice McClure-Tupper-Jackson.

He is survived by his son Gregory S. McClure and Marilyn, of Strasburg, Missouri; his daughter Kathy L. Haffa and Ron of Louisburg, Kansas; 8 grandchildren, Robert J.Bloesser and Heather of Olathe, Kansas, Brandon S. McClure of Santa Monica, California, Lisa Ann Heller of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Patrick H. McClure and Alexis of Seattle, Washington, Kristi R. Downing and Ethan of Kansas City, Missouri; Teresa, Leeann, and Erica Kline all of Strasburg; 2 great-grandchildren Hunter R. Heller and Lukas S. Bloesser; one sister Grace Cowling of Louisburg, Kansas; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded.

A memorial service was held Saturday, October 18, 2008, at the funeral home. Mr. Gregory S. McClure officiated. Members of VFW Post #3118 performed a flag folding ceremony.

Inurnment was held in the Peculiar Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Louisburg Care Center Rehab Department for the Outside Therapy Yard and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
