Ruth Kennedy

Ruth M. Kennedy, 89 of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Sunday, February 16, 1919 in Butler County, Kansas, the daughter of late John W. and Alta (Payne) Carden. She departed this life Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the Pleasant Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center.

On February 2, 1939, Ruth was united in marriage to Roy F. Kennedy in Clinton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2006.

Ruth was a homemaker and devoted farm wife. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters Josephine Fillmore and Mary Ashby.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Marsha Kennedy of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; her grandson Michael Kennedy and his wife Heather of Pleasant Hill; her granddaughter Susan Wohlferd and her husband Steven of Silverdale, Washington; her brother John Carden and his wife Jean of Kansas City, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home. Reverend D. Kent Deubner officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Richard Alexander, Pat Garry, Rick Greufe, Connie Henley, John Lancaster and Justin McConville.
