Roy Neil Allee, 79, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Sunday, January 13, 1929 in Kingsville, Missouri, the son of William Slyvainus and Edith Viola (Paul) Allee. He departed this life Monday, December 1, 2008 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. In October 1953, Roy was united in marriage to his first wife Joyce Jeraldine Truelove in Miami, Oklahoma. In May 1982 he was then united in marriage to Sharon Randall in Belton, Missouri.

Roy along with his son Donald owned and operated R&D Construction until Roy's retirement in 1993. Following his retirement he and Donnie then owned operated "Smokin Roy's" Barbeque in Pleasant Hill and later in Butler. He was a member of the Kansas City Barbeque Society.

Besides his parents, He is preceded in death by five brothers William Marvin Allee, Robert "Short" Allee, Dale Wayne Allee, Ed Woods, and Bill Mizell and one sister Doris Richardson.

He is survived by his son Donald Allee of Butler, Missouri; his daughter Connie Allee of Pleasant Hill; two brothers Oscar Lee Allee of Kingsville, LeRoy "Punk" Allee (and Florence) of Orrick, Missouri; two sisters Edith Rosetta Vermillion (and Jack) of Hope, Arkansas, Rosemary McGuinness of Independence, Missouri; 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; other relatives and many friends.

He is also survived by a host of extended family whom most considered him a father; they include Louis Lee Clark of Greenwood, Missouri and Carolyne Kenney of Stockton, Missouri.

Funeral services were held Friday evening, December 5, 2008, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill. Pastor Preston Sanders of the Strasburg Baptist Church officiated. Cremation followed services and inurnment will be in the Kingsville Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kansas Hospice House and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
