Robert Wilmoth

Robert Dale Wilmoth, 59, of Lee’s Summit, formerly of Pleasant Hill, was born, January 31, 1955, at the Memorial Hospital in Harrisonville, the son of Lillard C. and Betty Anne (Russell) Wilmoth. He departed this life at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at the Lee’s Summit Medical Center.

Robert was a 1973 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.

On September 1, 2001, he was united in marriage to Joyce Wilson, formerly of Pleasant Hill, at the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church.

Robert was employed early in his career as a mechanic for their family owned Phillips 66 service station on Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park. He then worked as a service writer for Royal Chevrolet in Harrisonville, and later for Don Kahan Chevrolet in Lee’s Summit. In his spare time he enjoyed music, history, Royals baseball, and was an avid golfer. He attended the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother Betty on November 24, 2007.

He is survived by his wife Joyce of Lee’s Summit; one step-daughter, Jessica (and Bryan) Stephenson of Overland Park; one grandson, Nick Stephenson of Overland Park; his father Lillard Wilmoth of Pleasant Hill; one sister Carson Anne Wilmoth of Pleasant Hill; one brother Todd Russell (and Linda) Wilmoth of Clinton, Illinois; one niece; two nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Cremation has been accorded.

A memorial service was held Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the funeral home. Reverend Hubert Neth officiated. Inurnment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
