Phillip Roy Cline, 65, of Pleasant Hill, was born August 10, 1958, in Harrisonville, the son of Richard LeRoy Cline and Margaret Ann (Kruse) Cline. He departed this life Monday, February 12, 2024, at the Kansas University Medical Center with Bev by his side.
Phil was a 1976 Kingsville Highschool graduate and attended Longview Community College.
On June 24, 1992, he was united in marriage to Beverly Jane Morris in Las Vegas, Nevada. They later divorced but remained friends.
Phil owned and operated Cline Autobody in Pleasant Hill, a business he and his brother Rick founded in 1982. They had also owned Cline’s Auto Recovery for several years. He truly enjoyed working in his shop. He also enjoyed flying remote-controlled airplanes and time spent in Sturgis. He loved racing and ran the NASCAR All-Pro Series, I-70 Speedway Late Model Series, and Modifieds on the dirt track.
Phil was preceded in death by his father, Richard “Pops” Cline.
He is survived by his sons, Kolton Cline and Kaleb Cline, both of Pleasant Hill, and Jon Andrew Stevenson of Harrisonville; grandson, Hagen Stevenson; ex-wife and companion, Beverly Cline of Pleasant Hill; his mother Margaret Cline of Kingsville; his brother, Rick (and Jayne) Cline of Pleasant Hill; his sister, Dennise (and Justin) Bowyer of Marshall; other relatives and a host of many friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday evening, February 20, 2024, at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the funeral home. Pastor Preston Sanders officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Kolton Cline, Kaleb Cline, Jon Stevenson, Hagen Stevenson, Rick Cline, and Scott Stever. Honorary casket bearers were Dean Battaglia, Danny Brooks, John Flora, and Doug Homan.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Lay Clergy and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
