Nellie Greene

Nellie A. Greene, 84, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Sunday, October 14, 1923 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, the daughter of George H. and Bessie May (Kincaid) Alexander. She departed this life Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Pleasant Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center.

On January 31, 1941, Nellie was united in marriage to Artie "J.D." Greene in Harrisonville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1996.

Nellie was a Homemaker. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son Richard "J.D." Greene, and four sisters Viola Beymer, Billie Greenway, Virginia McCarty and Bernita Steplen.

She is survived by her daughter Alice Lutjen of Pleasant Hill; 3 grandchildren, Carmen, Lisa, and Darren all of Pleasant Hill; 2 great grandchildren, Michael & Travis; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home. Evangelist Don Carlile officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Ellis Alexander, Clayton Foster, Franklin Foster, Danny McCarty, Steve McCarty, and Bobby Yarber. Honorary casket bearers were Lloyd Buckner, Bill Driskill, Charles Hatton, and Stanley Judd.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
