Mrs. Nelda Lou Miller, 74, of Belton, Missouri was born November 19, 1936 in Lucas, Kansas the daughter of Harland and Margaret (Nelson) Standley. She departed this life at 5:06 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at her home in Belton.
On March 31, 1962, Nelda was united in marriage to Cecil Coleman Miller in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Nelda was a homemaker. She was a member of the South Haven Baptist Church, Belton. Nelda loved to make quilts for people and family, counted cross stitch and volunteer wherever she could in her church. She had lived in East Lynne and Harrisonville, Missouri before moving to Belton in 1999.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nelda is survived by her husband Cecil C. Miller of the home; two sons, Greg Miller and his wife Karen of Harrisonville, Missouri, Scott Miller and his wife Rose of Grand Terrace, California; two daughters, Vicki Nunemaker and husband Merle of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Kendra Gehman and husband Dale of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Max Standley of Parthenon, Arkansas; one sister, Jo Ann Wolfshohl of Clearlake City, Texas;; other relatives and many friends.
A Graveside service was held Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Clearfork Cemetery near Garden City, Missouri.
Family received friends Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
The family suggest that memorial contributions my be made to the American Cancer Society or to Crossroads Hospice.
