Nancy Elizabeth McCauley, 88, of Pleasant Hill, was born, April 14, 1934, in Warrensburg, the daughter of Allen and Dora (Warner) Cox. She departed this life Friday, September 16, 2022, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Nancy was a bus driver for the Strasburg School District and was also a Custodian at the school. For the past 20 years she worked for the Pleasant Hill Laundromat. She was known as grandma to all the children in the Strasburg area She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eugene “Gene” McCauley, Jr., her daughter, Sandra Fraze, her brother, Mason Cox, and one sister, Doris Wheeldon.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and (Kathy) McCauley of Pleasant Hill, and Alex and Ann McCauley of Overland Park; seven grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Ray of Lee’s Summit and Kathy Litton of Colorado Springs, Colorado; other relatives and a host of many friends and acquaintances she has met over the years.
It was Nancy’s expressed and explicit wishes that cremation was to be accorded and to have her ashes buried privately in the Staley Mound Cemetery.
