MURRELL L. LEAP
Murrell Lee Leap, 80, of Pleasant Hill, was born, August 3, 1940, in Camdenton, Missouri, the son of William E. and Pauline R. (Pettitt) Leap. He departed this life, Monday, September 21, 2020, at the Research Medical Center, Kansas City.
Murrell attended Southeast High School through his junior year when he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps; he served from 1958 to 1962.
On October 10, 1963, he was united in marriage to Anna Marie Bower in Kansas City, Kansas.
Murrell was employed as a Lab Technician Eye-Glass Maker for the Duffens Optical in Lenexa. He enjoyed fishing, camping, eating-out, and piddling in his garage.
Murrell was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ernest Leap, Jack Leap, and Clyde Leap; one sister, Audrey Goodman.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie of Pleasant Hill; his daughter and son-in-law, Katherine J. and Mark Scherzer of Ottawa, Kansas; seven grandchildren, David (and Louisa) Henry, Paul (and Kynadi) Henry, Christina (and Justin) Shay, Cynthia (and fiancé Matt) Henry, Donnie (and Chelsea) Henry, Jessie Sherzer, and Dani (and Adam) Trump; 13 great grandchildren, Nick and Levi Henry, Dominic, Garrett, and Callen Henry, Shyla, Seth, and Bre Shay, Chanton and Creedance Page, Luke Darby, Jace Henry, and Donovan Trump; other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Visitation was held Monday, September 28, 2020, at the funeral home. Cremation was accorded following the visitation.
Full military honors and inurnment were held Friday, October 2, 2020, in the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery, Higginsville.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V) and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
