Morgan Elizabeth Mitchell, 18, of Kingsville, was born February 9, 2007, in Blue Springs, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center.
Morgan was currently a senior at the Kingsville High School where she enjoyed playing volleyball and basketball, ran track, and was a member of the band. She enjoyed art, reading, and writing. She was crazy about horses and most recently was into Highland Cows. She was a member of the Johnson County Cowboy Church and the MCWRA Chuck Wagon Racing Team.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jimmy and Susan Mitchell; maternal grandfather, Wayne Findley; maternal great grandmother, Margarette Findley; maternal great grandfather, Melford Ash; l great grandmother, Marie Malott; and one cousin, Kyle Neece.
She is survived by her father Brad Mitchell of Holden; her mother and stepfather Rachel and James Callaway of Pleasant Hill; her siblings, Brent Mitchell of Holden, Trent Mitchell of Beaverton, Oregon, Lexi Callaway of Pleasant Hill, Taylor Callaway and Ivy Callaway of Harrisonville; maternal grandparents, LaVonna and Gene Malott of Blue Springs, and Mike and Chris Callaway of Leeton; uncles and aunts, Jason Mitchell of Campbell, Texas, Wendy (and Howard) Carney of Tallula, Louisiana, Kristy (and Jack) Masterson of Buena Parks, California; Tony (and Tori) Findley Liberty, Hunter Mallot of North Kansas City, and Jackson (and Vanessa) Malott of Independence; maternal great grandfather Lonnie (and Bonnie) Findley of Creighton; great grandfather Gene Malott Sr. of Blue Springs; maternal great grandmother, Wilma Ash of Raymore; other relatives and a host of many friends.
All services will be held at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church - Community Life Center, Pleasant Hill.
Visitation was held Thursday, March 6, 2025.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 7, 2025. Pastor Kevin Mannering officiated.
Casket bearers were Dakota Bayless, Dillan Findley, Rod Findley, Brad Mitchell, Brent Mitchell, and K.J. Robling. Cremation following services. Inurnment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.
