Michael Webster

January 3, 1955 — September 16, 2024

Belton, Missouri

Howard Michael “Duck” Webster, 69, of Belton, Missouri, was born 03 January 1955 in Penn Yan, New York. He departed this life Monday, 16 September 2024, at the Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Mike was one of seven children born to the late Howard Donald and Elinor June (Miller) Webster of Dundee, New York. He was a 1973 Dundee Central High School graduate.

In 1988, while working at Richards Gebaur AFB he met Lorrie Lynn Tomlinson. They later married on 31 July 1999 at their home in Belton.

Mike proudly served our nation for over 30 years from August 1973 to June 2006. He was active-duty Air Force from August 1973 to August 1977 where he served with Top-Secret Clearance. His duties included shipping/receiving, in-checking, and inspection of in/out bound freight (this consisted of everything from household goods to Minuteman II Missiles). In March 1988 he transferred to Richards Gebaur Air Force Base as a reservist. While at R-G he served as a Combat Arms Specialist training our troops in weapon use and worked the firing range as a Tower Operator as well as assisting shooters on the line. He was also responsible for all weapons assigned to the base. This included inspection and repair, maintaining ammunition orders, and usage inventories. In 1994 he attended the Combat Arms Conversion Course to officially become a part of the Security Forces. From October 2001 to June 2003, he was placed on Active Duty in response to 9-11 and at one point was called to Incirlik AFB, Türkiye, for a six-month tour. Mike retired as TSgt in June 2006 from Forbes Field Air National Guard, Topeka, Kansas. Mike was also employed as a Cable Splicer for Southwestern Bell from May 1978 to August 2008. Most recently he was employed as a Security Guard with VendTech in Kansas City, Missouri.

Mike loved to shoot guns, listen to music, watch movies, and enjoyed woodworking. He loved trivia and was magnificent at it with his vast knowledge of both useful and useless information. But what brought him the most joy was time spent with family. He loved getting everyone together to BBQ, swim, laugh, tell jokes, reminisce about the good ole days, and tell stories of his many adventures. Mike also owned a little HavaPoo dog, Shadow, which he loved with all his heart. He spoiled her daily and she will be truly lost without her daddy. He also loved spoiling his grand dog Gypsy and Lorrie’s Sophia.

Mike was also preceded in death by one son, Daniel Roy Webster and one sister, Luanne Bennett.

He is survived by his wife, Lorrie of Belton; five children, Jennifer Luanne Webster of Kansas City, Mo., Nathan Michael (and Roberta) Webster of Liberty, Mo., Murrissa Ann Webster of Belton, Mo., Austin Lynn (and Mercedes) Webster of Spring Hill, Ks., and Savannah Nicole Webster of Belton, Mo.; twelve grandchildren, Christi, Zachary, Haley, Dylan, Vivian, Hanna, Mylee, Kaydence, Beckett, Keller, Brantley, and Shai; nine great grandchildren, Abbygail, Elena, William, Gabriel, Logan, Murphy, Madeline, Klarissa, and Nichole; five siblings, Terry W. Webster of Penn Yan, Ny., Linda D. (and Joseph) Young of Dundee, Ny., Donna M. (and Robert) Bergmark of Dundee, Mari E. (and John) Gauck of Montour Falls, Ny., and Judy L.
