Maxine Alice Pfaff, 82, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Monday, May 7, 1928 in Ore, Missouri, the daughter of Jessie LaRoy and Estella May (Schindorff) Braden. She departed this life at 5:07 A.M. on Monday, May 10, 2010 at the Edgewood Manor, in Raytown, Missouri.
On June 12, 1949, Maxine was united in marriage to Charles Henry Pfaff in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1998.
Following graduation from the East Lynne High School she attended the Kansas City Business School. She then went to work in the Payroll Department at Kansas City Life for several years. Later she managed her own Fuller Brush franchise in here in Pleasant Hill. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and the Pleasant Hill VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, bird watching and oil painting. Maxine and Charlie loved attending the Big Creek Country show and both assisted with the Meals on Wheels program in Pleasant Hill.
She was also preceded in death by her sister Patricia Braden.
She is survived by her foster son Jesse Rivera of Lenexa, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 14, 2010, at the funeral home. Reverend Mervin Roberts chaplain of Englewood Manor officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
