Martha M. Fox, 78, of Mount Vernon, Missouri, formerly of Pleasant Hill, Missouri was born Saturday, August 31, 1929, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Harold D. and Edith B. (Stumpff) Hays. She departed this life Sunday, January 20, 2008 at St. John's Regional Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

On June 16, 1948, Martha was united in marriage to George A. Fox in Mission, Kansas; he preceded her in death on August 25, 2005.

Martha worked in the Food Service Department for the University of Missouri at Columbia retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and 1 son Timothy Mark Fox.

She is survived by 1 son Ted Fox and wife Jan of Verona, Missouri; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service was held Monday, January 28, 2008. Monsignor Robert Murphy officiated. Burial of ashes was held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
