Margaret Johnson

Margaret L. Johnson, 82, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, formerly of Pleasant Hill and Raymore was born Thursday, February 11, 1926 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, the daughter of the late Syranus S. and Clara Zettine (Bunnell) Griffith, Sr. She departed this life Friday, September 19, 2008 her home in Lee's Summit.

On January 8, 1944, Margaret was united in marriage to Howard Earl Johnson in Olathe, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 26, 2002.

Margaret was head baker and cashier for the Kroger grocery store in Kansas City, Kansas until her retirement in October 1976. She was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Raymore.

She was also preceded in death by 3 brother's Syranus, Lloyd, and Johnnie Griffith; and 1 sister Clara Browning.

She is survived by her son Howard Wayne Johnson and his wife Lorrie Lee of Raytown, Missouri; her daughter Clara Earlene Wise of Kansas City, Missouri; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, 1 brother Lawrence Griffith and his wife Margaret of Raymore, Missouri; 3 sisters Josephine Johnson of Butler, Missouri, Estella Robinett of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Anna Muninger and her husband Coburn of Raymore, Missouri; 1 brother-in-law Willis Browning of Lee's Summit, Missouri; 2 sister-in-law's Alice Griffith of Pleasant Hill, Eileen Griffith of Adrian, Missouri, other relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Reverend J.C. Beckner officiated. Casket bearers were Angela Johnson, Amy Johnson, Jamey Mongold, Josh Mongold, Bradley Wise, Garett Wise, and Michael Wise.
