Lilly Mae Bundren, 89, of Derby, Kansas, formerly of Pleasant Hill, was born Thursday, April 11, 1918 in Middlesboro, Kentucky, the daughter of the late John and Mattie Lee (Byrd) Cawood. She departed this life Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at the Catholic Care Center, in Wichita, Kansas.
On December 25, 1936, Lilly was united in marriage to John S. Bundren in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee. He preceded her in death in April 1979.
Lilly was a School Bus Driver for Pleasant Hill School District for many years, retiring in 1978. She was a former member of the Pleasant Hill First Baptist Church and a current member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Derby.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 1 brother John S. Cawood.
She is survived by 2 daughters Alice Neal of Derby and Elizabeth Ann Williams of Walters, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 12, 2007, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home. Reverend D. Kent Deubner officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Kansas and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
