Karen Lynn Pate, 63, of Republic, Missouri, was born Friday, December 26, 1947 in Waynesville, Missouri, the daughter of Kenneth Wendell and Loretta May Corine (Akley) Phillips. She departed this life on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the Kansas University Medical Center, in Kansas City, Kansas.

She is preceded in death by her Father and Mother and one Brother, Frank Phillips.

On April 16, 1993, Karen was united in marriage to Gerry Pate in Crane, Missouri. He survives.

Karen is also survived by her daughter Tammy (and Rusty) Harris of Dodge City, Kansas; two sons Garrett (and Carlie) Chambers of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; and Eric Chambers of Crane, Missouri; four stepdaughters Cindy Cantrell of Ozark, Missouri, Christy Stokes of Springfield, Missouri, Cathy (and James) McAnally of Marshfield, Missouri, Carolyn Watson of Harrisburg, Missouri; 22 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild with another on the way; two brothers Ken (and Jane) Phillips of Santa Ana, CA; Wendell (and Elaine) Phillips of Osage Beach, Missouri; and one nephew & one great nephew; and many other relatives and a host of loving friends.

Karen worked for the Tyson Corporation in Monett for 24 years.

Cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life gathering was held Saturday, January 22, 2011, at the Monett City Park in Monett, Missouri.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
