Joyce C. Miller-Anderson

Joyce Carol Miller-Anderson, 88, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born, June 28, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of William H. and Mary H. (Chiles) Neal.  She departed this life Sunday, January 1, 2023, at her home surrounded with love and family.

Joyce grew up in Kansas City and attended Central High School.

On December 19, 1980, she was united in marriage to Robert L. “Bob” Miller in Gravois Mills, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 4, 2010.

Joyce had been employed as a Meat Cutter and Wrapper for the Milgram’s Grocery Store in Kansas City.  She also owned and operated several Bar & Grills including the Capri Lounge in Kansas City and the Amigos Bar & Grill in Gravois Mills.  She was a former member of the Moose Lodge and the Elks.  She was a member of the Strasburg Baptist Church and attended Echo Church.  She enjoyed being outdoors, especially swimming, boating, and skiing at the lake, was a wonderful cook, loved listening to music, decorating her home, but most importantly she loved spending time with family and friends. 

Joyce was also preceded in death by her parents and three children, Delbert “Buddy” Horton, Craig Horton, and Sarah Miller.

She is survived by six children, Belinda (and Bob) Ragain of Sunrise Beach, Brent (and Sherry) Miller of Tightwad, Nick (and Terri) Miller of Columbus, Ohio, Chris (and Mike) Goff of Pleasant Hill, Brad (and Kelley) Lathrop of Warrenton, Missouri, and Jackie Mann of Louisville, Kentucky; twenty grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one sister, Judy (and Doug) Wilson of Lone Jack; other relatives and friends.

Visitation and a memorial service were held Saturday, January 7, 2022, at the funeral home.  Pastor Preston Sanders officiated. 

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Animal Shelter and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
