John A. Williams

October 1, 1963 — March 6, 2025

Pleasant Hill, Missouri

John Alan Williams, 61, of Pleasant Hill, was born October 1, 1963, in Kansas City, the son of Jack R. and Ruth L. (Young) Williams. With profound sadness, we announce that he departed this life on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Kansas City Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones.

John was a 1982 Lee’s Summit High School graduate. He was employed as a Millworker and Warehouse Manager for The Morgan-Wightman Supply Company in Kansas City. In his younger years he enjoyed playing softball, bull riding, and rodeoing; later he became an avid fisherman. John was a loving and devoted father, brother, and friend. He will forever be remembered for his infectious smile, hard working attitude, competitive nature, humor, and humbleness. Not to mention his love for Kansas City sports, Notre Dame, old western movies, George Strait, and an ice cold beer. He was a simple man and lived a simple life.

John was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary Williams.

He is survived by one brother, Randy Williams of Lowry City; one sister, Jana Bush of Pleasant Hill; his daughter Julianna (and Taylor) Wisneski of Prairie Village; his beloved friends, Jason and Beth Thompson, David Hix, Ronda Barklage, and Roger Bush; and many other relatives and friends.

Per John’s wishes, cremation has been accorded and his ashes will be spread over his favorite fishing holes at Truman Lake and Lake of the Ozarks by his best friend, Jason Thompson.

Visitation and a celebration of John's life was held Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the funeral home. Pastor Janice Hill officiated. His family and friends were invited wear Chiefs, Royals, or Cowboy attire in honor of John.

Arrangements: Stanley-Edenburn Funeral Home, 203 N. Armstrong St., Pleasant Hill, Missouri 64080 (816) 540-5550
