John Hede

John Ernest Hede, 70, of Eaton, Ohio, was born October 28, 1943, in Galveston, Texas, the son of John and Doris (Dabney) Hede. He departed this life Monday, September 29, 2014, at the Sycamore Medical Center in Miamisburg, Ohio.

John was a 1962 New Mexico Military Institute graduate, later earning a bachelor's degree in marine engineering. At the age of 60 years old he went back to school and earned a degree in nursing home administration.

Most recently he was employed as a nursing home administrator in the Dayton, Ohio area.

On November 8, 2003, John was united in marriage to Jami Lynne Dustman in Edwardsville, Kansas.

He enjoyed computer programming, astrology, and reading. He especially loved reading and learning about other cultures and their people.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Jami of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; a step-daughter from his first marriage Monica Greye Walker and her son Ethan of California; one brother James Hede of Dickinson, Texas; step-mother Mae Hede of Dickinson; father-in-law Bob Dustman of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; brother-in-law Greg (and Stephanie) Dustman of Pleasant Hill; two nieces Hannah Dustman of Columbia, Missouri, and Rachel Dustman of Pleasant Hill; other relatives; and a circle of many friends including his dog Sally.

Cremation has been accorded. No services are scheduled at this time.
