On January 8, 1924, she was united in marriage to Eugene Granville Harper in Brighton, Colorado. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1982.
Jane was a homemaker, but did work for a short time at Toretel in Kansas City. She was a member of the Grandview Baptist Church. She loved to travel and had visited Europe and Hawaii, although her favorite trips were to Colorado and visiting all of the national parks. She was an avid reader and made it a point to read at least one book a week.
She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter Patricia Lynn Bounds and three sisters Mildred Miller, Helen Fleming, and Margaret Hamline.
She is survived by one son Robert Harper and his wife Donna of Gardner, Kansas; two daughters Barbara Susan Freidhof of Peculiar, Missouri, and Patricia Joanne Twyman of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister Norma Jean Cantrell and her husband Junior of Marshfield, Missouri; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 28, 2011, at the funeral home. Pastor Joey Lang of the Grace Baptist Church in Gardner officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Grace Baptist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
