James Oscar Kane, 81, of Strasburg, Missouri, was born Wednesday, September 22, 1925 in Johnson County, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, August 8, 2007 in Kansas City, Missouri.
In 1972, James was united in marriage to Betty Louise Phillips in Clinton, Missouri .
James was a Carpenter in the Holden, Kingsville, Pleasant Hill, and Strasburg most of his life.
He was a WWII Army veteran and member of VFW Post #3118, Pleasant Hill.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Betty; 1 step-son Ronald Slavens; and 2 brothers Gene and Abe Kane.
He is survived by 1 step-son, Rick Slavens of Gardner, Kansas; 2 step-daughters, Pam Brasel and Vickie Paul, both of Kansas City, Missouri; 3 Nephews Gary, Bert, and Steve Kane; 6 grandchildren; 5 grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
A Graveside service and interment was held Saturday, August 11, 2007, at the Kingsville Cemetery, Kingsville, Missouri. Reverend D. Kent Deubner officiated.
Military Graveside services were provided by VFW Post #3118, Pleasant Hill.
