HOBERT R. MILICAN
Hobert R. Milican, Sr., 88, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born on Friday, June 13, 1919 in Pleasant Hill, the son of Hobert Garrett and Edna Pearl (Small) Milican. He departed this life on Friday, September 14, 2007 at The Rehabilitation Center of Raymore.
On October 20, 1946, Hobert was united in marriage to Ila Bethene Morris in Escondido, California; she preceded him in death on April 2, 1980.
Hobert was a WWII Army Veteran. Upon returning from the service, Hobert worked for Miller Dairy in Lemon Grove, California until retirement. He was a life member of VFW Post #3118-Pleasant Hill, a Past Master and active member of Jewel Lodge #480-Pleasant Hill, and a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Escondido, California.
Besides his parents and wife, Hobert was preceded in death by his step-father, Lonie James; two brothers, Johnnie and Ronald Dale James; and one sister, Verna Milican.
He is survived by two sons, Hobert Ray Milican, Jr. and his wife, Susie of El Cahon, California; and Robert D. Milican and his wife, Carol of Escondido, California; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Lonnie Lee James and his wife, Mary of Lebanon, Missouri; four sisters, Della Croy, Nyla Parris, Alberta Benware and her husband, Bob all of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; and Alma Foote and her husband Homer of Harrisonville, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services were held Monday, September 17, 2007, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home. Reverend Fred Burns officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with military graveside honors conducted by VFW Post #3118.
Visitation was held Sunday, September 16, 2007 at the funeral home, with Masonic services provided by Jewel Lodge #480.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Good Shepherd Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
