Henry D. "H.D." Phillips, 91, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born May 23, 1915, in Braymer, Missouri, the son of Charles C. and Goldie P. (Walker) Phillips, he departed this life Friday, May 4, 2007 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Home in Belton, Missouri.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy Buxton on September 19, 1969 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Henry was employed as a Revenue Officer for the IRS retiring in 1980. He was an active member and past president of the Pleasant Hill Lions Club and was a member of the Strasburg Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy of the home; a son Martin Phillips and wife Susan, Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter, Cheryl McIntosh and husband Ted, Overland Park, Kansas; a stepson, Michael Buxton, Harrisonville, Missouri; 3 grandchildren Phillip Hof, Kansas City, Missouri, Nathan Hof, New York, New York, and Jonathan Hof and wife Johanna, Overland Park, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Reverend Preston Sanders officiated.

Visitation was held Monday, May 7, 2007 at the funeral home. The Pleasant Hill Lions Club held a Rose Ceremony Lion Don Carlile officiated.

Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Jonathan Hof, Nathan Hof, Phillip Hof, Bud Baker, John McDonald, Gary Moulder, Jim Purvis, Jay Sanders, Scott Shulor, and Don Ward.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Strasburg Baptist Church Building Fund.
