Harold Kenneth "Kenny" or "Bozo" Elms, 89, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Sunday, September 19, 1920 in Indianola, Nebraska, the son of Harold O. and LaVaughn M. (Schoonover) Elms. He departed this life at 1:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at his home.
On December 13, 1942, Harold was united in marriage to Eileen M. Heine in Craig, Missouri. She preceded him in death on November 26, 1999.
Harold farmed in Northern Missouri before going to work for the General Motors Corporation in Kansas City where he retired from in 1982. He was a member of the Amazing Grace Lutheran Church in Pleasant Hill and the United Auto Workers Union. He had also been a member of Jackson County Sheriff's Posse.
He was also preceded in death by one brother Wayne Elms and one sister Evelyn Boston.
He is survived by his son Armand K. (and Patti Randazzo) Elms of Pleasant Hill; a granddaughter Kelly; one great grandchild; one brother Lynn Elms of St. Joseph, Missouri; one sister Erma Miles of Virginia; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday evening, July 29, 2010, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home. Pastor Bill Schroeder of the Amazing Grace Lutheran Church officiated. A solo was performed by Mr. Andy Moore.
Graveside services were held Friday, July 30, 2010, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Dale Francy, Jr., David Francy, Dean Francy, Doug Francy, David J. Francy, and Lisa Ketchum.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the kind, compassionate and steadfast service that Harold's home nurse Lisa Ketchum provided for their father in the past three years.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Amazing Grace Lutheran Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
