Gwendolyn F. Emo, 87, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri was born Friday, November 26, 1920 in Flemington, Missouri, the daughter of William C. and Hallie E. (Crank) Graves. She departed this life Friday, January 11, 2008 at the Lafayette Regional Health Center, Lexington, Missouri.
On May 11, 1939, Gwendolyn was united in marriage to Elwood Arthur Emo in Lamar, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 25, 1995.
Gwen was a homemaker. Later she worked as a seamstress for Pleasant Hill Garment Manufacturing.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by an infant son Gary Lane Emo and a brother Jack W. Graves.
She is survived by her son Donald Emo and his wife Jackie of Pleasant Hill; 3 daughters Lenora Hatton of Pleasant Hill, Barbara Harris of Warsaw, Missouri, and Debra Emo of Odessa, Missouri; 2 Brothers Bill Graves and his wife Billie and Paul Graves and his wife Sharon all of St. Joseph, Missouri; 2 sisters Betty Anderson and her husband Johnny of St. Joseph, Missouri and Ruth Warner of Overland Park, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 14, 2008, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home. Reverend William Boren officiated. Cremation rites were accorded following the service. Inurnment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shriner's Hospital and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
