Glenda Odessa Garrison, 85, of Grandview, Missouri, was born July 23, 1936, in Whittier, California, the daughter of Woodard Hampton and Jewel Odessa (Sartor) Clouse. She departed this life peacefully, Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at her son and daughter-in-law’s home in Pleasant Hill.
At a young age Glenda was baptized became a member of the Church of Christ in Chino, California. She was a 1955 Buffalo High School graduate.
On December 9, 1956, she was united in marriage to Melvin Owen Garrison in Kansas City, Missouri. To this union four children, Randolph, Kimberly, Pamela and Deborah were born. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2009.
Glenda was a Homemaker. She was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Grandview. One of the favorite things in her life was supporting Philippine Missions, She enjoyed watching and feeding birds, working in her yard and with her flowers, thrift store shopping, and playing cards (especially a good game of Rook).
She enjoyed life and loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, neighbor, and friend. She brought joy, and laughter to everyone’s life she touched.
Glenda was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Harvey Clouse.
She is survived by her son Randy (and LaDonna) Garrison of Pleasant Hill; three daughters, Kim (and Randy) Deems of Pierce City, Pam (and David) Dunford of Kent, Ohio, and Debbie Garrison of Overland Park; eight grandchildren, Adam Garrison, Matthew Garrison, Rebecca (and Zach) Willis, Madison Deems, Logan Deems, Tyler Dunford, Kaley Dunford, and Evan Garrison; six great grandchildren, Haley Garrison, Landrie Brumfield, Kennedy Willis, Audra Willis, Peri Willis, and Cora Dunford; two sisters, Arline Gamel of Raymore, and Annette Collins of Springfield, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service were held Monday, July 11, 2022, at the Main Street Church of Christ in Grandview. Evangelist Paul Collins officiated.
Interment was in the Parklawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Croix Hospice or the Main St. Church of Christ for Philippines Missions.
