Gearldine Gray, 87, of Independence, Missouri, was born Saturday, June 24, 1922 in White Cloud, Missouri the daughter of Rollie V. and Stella J. (Nation) Davis. She departed this life Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the Rehabilitation Center of Independence.
On September 3, 1947, Gearldine was united in marriage to Farold Dean Gray in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2007.
Gearldine was a homemaker and will be deeply missed by her surviving family, friends and devoted companion dog, Jackson.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother Clifford I. Davis and one sister Lela P. Docktor.
She is survived by one brother Bill Davis and Barbara of Independence; one brother-in-law, Donald Docktor of Oak Grove; 2 nephews Donald Docktor II of Oak Grove and David Docktor and Tonna of Blue Springs; 2 nieces Becky Soetaert and Tommie of Lee's Summit and Rhonda French & Brian of Lee's Summit; 4 great nieces and 3 great nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were held Monday, January 11, 2010, at the funeral home. Reverend D. Kent Deubner, minister of the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were George Davis, Leo (Junior) Davis, David Lee Docktor, Donald Docktor II, Brian French and Tommie Soetaert.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
