Gary H. Dyson, 50 of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Saturday, September 22, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Robert Eugene Dyson and Sandra Sharon (Hull) Dyson. He departed this life Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

On August 28, 2007, Gary was united in marriage to his companion of 24 years, Kelly Norton in Pleasant Hill.

Gary was a construction superintendent for M. C. Construction. Gary was a free spirit, whose passion included anything to do with the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and he was an avid NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his father Robert of Spring Hill, Florida; his mother Sandra of Lee's Summit; his wife Kelly of the home; 1 son Damion Dyson of the home; 1 daughter SeAnna Shepard and her husband Eric of Harrisonville; 1 granddaughter Ashlee "Little bit" Shepard of Harrisonville; 1 brother, Steven Dyson and his wife Debra of Raymore; 1 sister Patti Lauritzen of Lee's Summit; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Cremation has been accorded. A Graveside service with inurnment was held Saturday, September 8, 2007, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Reverend D. Kent Deubner officiated.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Kansas City Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
