F. Dean Gray, Independence, formerly of Pleasant Hill, was born Friday, July 30, 1920 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, the son of George Riley and Okie Bendina (Shields) Gray. He departed this life Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the Independence Regional Health Center, at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 21 days.
On September 3, 1947, Farold was united in marriage to Gearldine Davis in Kansas City, Missouri.
Dean was a WWII United State Navy Seabee veteran. Following his time in the service he owned and operated Gray's welding in Independence, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Local #83.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Gearldine Gray of the home, many, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 23, 2007, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill. Reverend D. Kent Deubner officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Donald Docktor, II, David L. Docktor, Brian French, David Gray, Don Gray, and Tommie Soetaert. Honorary casket bearers are Doug Brannock, Donald L. Docktor, M. Dean Gray, Jay Hayes, and Howard Moore.
