Ethel Steele

Ethel May Steele, 94 of Harrisonville, Missouri, formerly of Pleasant Hill was born Monday, February 23, 1914 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, the daughter of Charley and Norma (Jennings) Clark. She departed this life Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the Camden Health Center, in Harrisonville.

On August 3, 1929 Ethel was united in marriage to Elmer L. Bunnell in Harrisonville, he preceded her in death on February 10, 1964. Later she married Martin Steele; he also preceded her in death.

Ethel was a homemaker and worked in the grade school lunchroom for many years.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Donald and Sharon Bunnell of Pleasant Hill; 5 grandchildren Michael Flippin of Grandview, Scott Lucas of Harrisonville, Cheri Heldstab and Curtis of Buda, Texas, Kenneth Flippin of Kansas City North, and Wendy Bunnell of Raytown, Missouri; 4 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the funeral home. Reverend Carl Knapp of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Jim Brown, Kenneth Flippin, Michael Flippin, and Sammy Shewmaker.
