Elizabeth Purvis, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Wednesday, January 21, 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri, the Daughter of Ira I. and Melva Barnes Owsley. She departed this life Monday, November 20, 2006 at her home in Pleasant Hill, at the age of 86 years 9 months and 29 days.

On July 14, 1951, she was united in marriage to Paul W. Purvis in Eureka Springs, Arkansas .

Elizabeth was a Homemaker. She was a member of the Harrisonville First Baptist Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Bettye Jeanne Smith Stark, two grandchildren, and her sister Louise.

She is survived by a loving family, her husand Paul W. Purvis of the home; four sons, Jim and Kelley Purvis, Pleasant Hill, Wil and Carol Purvis, Springfield, Missouri, Bill and Vicky Smith, Independence, Missouri, and Bob Smith, Smithville, Missouri; four daughters, Becky and Bill Curtin, Pleasant Hill, Wanda and Bob Haas Stuart, Florida, Patti Purvis Arnall , Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and Marilyn and Bob Fields, Lone Jack, Missouri; 34 Grandchildren; 56 Great Grandchildren; two nephews; one niece, and many friends.

Funeral services were held 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 25, 2006, at the Harrisonville First Baptist Church. Visitation was held 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2006 at Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill.
