Eddie W. "Skip" Norvell

Eddie Wayne “Skip” Norvell, 63, of Pleasant Hill, was born October 8, 1959, at the Naval Hospital in Oakland, California, the son of Billy Wayne and Lillian Jewel (Spotts) Norvell.  He departed this life Sunday, March 12, 2023, at his home.

Eddie was a 1977 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.  Following graduation, he served in the United States Coast Guard.

Eddie had been employed in maintenance for the Austin State Hospital in Austin, Texas, and was currently employed in maintenance for the Pleasant Hill R-III School District.  He enjoyed working outside, gardening and landscaping.  He also loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Eddie is survived by his parents, Billy and Jewel Norvell of Pleasant Hill; his brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Rhonda Norvell of Pleasant Hill; two nephews, Cody (and Jessica) Norvell and Clayton (and Nicole) Norvell of Pleasant Hill; great nieces and nephews, Cooper Norvell, Lainey Norvell, Sadie Norvell, and Tucker Norvell, all of Pleasant Hill; several aunts and uncles; other relatives and friends.

Visitation and funeral services were held Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the funeral home.  Reverend James Stanfield-Myers officiated.  Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with full military honors by the United States Coast Guard and the V.F.W. Post #3118 Honor Guard. Casket bearers were Tony Norvell, Cody Norvell, Clayton Norvell, Robert Boston, Jim Edwards, and John Wilson.  Honorary casket bearers were James Boston and Tony Echeita.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Bright Futures of Pleasant Hill and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
