Douglas Raymond Kleyh, 55, of Sugar Creek, Missouri, was born Thursday, February 5, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Charles M. and Marilynn W. (Cross) Kleyh. He departed this life Saturday, January 10, 2009 at his home.

Douglas was a residential plumber in the Kansas City area working for Evans Plumbing and later K & M Plumbing. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by 3 brothers and their wives Dennis and Rebecca Kleyh and Donald and Kathy Kleyh both of Pleasant Hill and Dwayne and Crystal Kleyh of Grain Valley; 2 sisters and their husbands Beverley and Everett Owings and Rebecca and Jim Torres both of Blue Springs; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 16, 2009, at the Funeral Home. Reverend D. Kent Deubner of the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with graveside military services conducted by the Pleasant Hill Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3118 Honor Guard. Casket bearers were Benjamin Kleyh, Brian Kleyh, Dennis Kleyh, Jr., Jacob Kleyh, Jason Kleyh, Zachary Kleyh, Clifford Owings, Matthew Owings, Nathan Owings, Brandon Torres, Joshua Torres, and Kyle Torres.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Wayside Waifs and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
