Delma Lee

October 2, 1925 — November 2, 2006

Delma May Lee, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, was born Friday, October 2, 1925 in Glen Burnie, Maryland, the daughter of Edward Leach Pumphrey and Margaret Barbara Krause. She departed this life Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Pleasant Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center, Pleasant Hill at the age of 81 years and 1 month.

On January 20, 1944, Delma was united in marriage to a Missouri Navy man Arthur Carl Rickerson in Baltimore, Maryland. They moved to Kansas City in 1948.

Delma was a supervisor for Luce Manufacturing for over 20 years, and finished her career at Wilcox's Electric. She moved to Broadway village in March 2002 where she enjoyed very much her friends and Bible Class, until her recent illness.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; her great grandaughter, Baby Girl; three brothers, Eddie, Richard, and Melvin Pumphrey; and best friends Harry Wayne Lee and Delbert Mettlan.

She is survived by her daughter, Millie and her husband Ray Parris, of Kingsville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Dianna Gibson and her husband John Smoot of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Tammy and her husband Craig Hydeman of Overland Park, Kansas, Chris and his wife Colleen Parris of Spring, Texas; seven great grandchildren, Lee Gibson, Neal Hydeman, Katherine Hydeman, Erica Parris, Hannah Parris, Christian Smoot, and Connor Smoot; One brother, George "Buddy" Pumphrey, of Millersville, Maryland; and one sister; Mildred Parks of Halethorpe, Maryland; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Graveside services were held Saturday, November 4, 2006 at the Strasburg Cemetery. Reverend John McRoy officiated.
