Claudine Larimer

Claudine R. Larimer, 89, a lifelong resident of Pleasant Hill, Missouri was born Sunday, November 23, 1919 in Pleasant Hill, the daughter of Warren G. "Bud" and Minnie Ethel (Feeback) Babylon. She departed this life Sunday, May 10, 2009 at the Lee's Summit Medical Center.

Claudine worked for the A D Mohr Greenhouse from 1956 to 1977, and managed Pleasantrees Flowers for Gil & Kathy Manda. In 1981 she purchased Pleasantrees and owned and operated it out of her home until her retirement in 2007.

She was a charter member of the ABWA Cass County Chapter, a member of Professional Business Women, Pleasant Hill Garden Club, and the Kansas City African Violet Society. She was President of the Pleasant Hill PTA several times and a United Way board member. She decorated for the Pleasant Hill High School graduation for over 50 years. She was very active in the community and instrumental in maintaining the fountain downtown and the PH flower bed at Cedar & Seven Highway as well as numerous other projects in town. Claudine was well known in town for her flowers and her cakes.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers Laymon, Everett, James, Bill, and Rex; and 2 sisters Loucille Babylon, Martha Babylon, and Margie Hallak

She is survived by her daughter Jennifer (and Evan) Woodworth of Kansas City, Missouri; 4 grandchildren Sherri Hedges of Kansas City, Shane Hedges of Cameron, Missouri, Shad Rehms of Gravois Mills, Missouri and Shanon (and Donnie) Rehms Jensen of Kansas City; 10 great grandchildren Ashli Fanning, Tyler Fanning, Gracelynne Williams, Kristopher Hedges, Kaleb Hedges, Katlyn Hedges, Kirstin Rehms, Kyle Rehms, Alexis Rehms, Allisen Jensen; 1 great grandson Cameron Gripper; 2 sisters Peggy Bond of Greenwood and Maxine Haller of Raymore, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 14, 2009, at the funeral home. Interment was in the Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville.
