Chris Ford

Chris Alan Ford, 56, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Monday, July 14, 1952 in Pittsburg, Kansas, the son of Raymond L. and Geraldine (Williamson) Ford. He departed this life 11:30 P.M. Friday, May 15, 2009 at the Lee's Summit Medical Center.

On December 16, 1984, he was united in marriage to Rhonda L. Bowman at the 1st Baptist Chruch in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Chris was a farmer in the early years of his life. He was a gifted handy man who would apply this gift to helping anybody and everybody he could. No job was too small and he truly enjoyed helping others. Chris knew the Lord and was strong in his faith. He was an active member of the Lay-Clergy council and was a charter member of the Big Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his parents Raymond and Geraldine Ford of Pleasant Hill; his wife Rhonda of the home; 3 sons Tobias M. Ford of Austin, Texas, Cody E. Ford and Travis C. Ford both of Pleasant Hill; his granddaughter Serenity Jade Ford of Pleasant Hill; 1 brother Clayton C. Ford and his wife Linda of St. Augustine, Florida; other relatives and a host of friends.

Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at the Big Creek Baptist Church. Reverend Todd MacLean, minister of the church officiated.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Big Creek Baptist Church Mission Trip Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
