Cecil Coleman Miller, 82, of Belton, Missouri, was born Sunday, July 6, 1930, in Independence, Missouri, the son of James M. and Mamie (Coleman) Miller. He passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013, at the Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
In 1950 he was united in marriage to Joanne Stott; then later married Nelda Lou Standley on March 31, 1962 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. She preceded him in death on July 5, 2011.
Cecil was a self employed paint contractor. He also was employed as a painter for Art Southard. He was a member of the South Haven Baptist Church in Belton where he was also a Sunday School Teacher. He had lived in East Lynne and Harrisonville, Missouri before moving to Belton in 1999.
Cecil was also preceded in death by one brother Arthur Miller and two Sisters, Lucille Sudduth and Elnora Ingram.
He is survived by four children, Vicki Nunemaker (Merle) of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Greg Miller (Karen) of Lee's Summit, Scott Miller (Rose) of Grand Terrace, California, Kendra Gehman (Dale) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers Eugene Miller of Raymore, Missouri, and R.J Miller (Ruth) of Hutchison, Kansas; foreign exchange student son Davis Ferreira, special friend Barbara Richardson, other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services were held January 10, 2013, at the funeral home. Reverends Sterling Elsbury and Dr. Curt Fieleke officiated. Interment was in the Clearfork Cemetery near Garden City. Casket bearers were Andrew Clifton, Dale Gehman, Adam Miller, Jeremy Miller, Merle Nunemaker, and Tyler Nunemaker.
Visitation was held prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to South Haven Baptist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
