Brooks S. Sanders

Pleasant Hill, Missouri

Brooks Sloan Sanders, 52, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born June 18, 1972, in Independence, the son of James Lawrence “Jay” and Margaret Kay (Sloan) Sanders. He departed this life Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Research Medical Center with his parents at his side.

Brooks was a 1990 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.

Brooks was employed by the Ford Motor Company for nearly 30 years where he was a member of the United Auto Workers Local #249. He was also a member of the of the National Rifle Association. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and shoot trap.

Brooks was preceded in death by one niece, Angella Sanders.

He is survived by his parents, Jay and Kay Sanders of Pleasant Hill; one brother Preston (and Brenda) Sanders of Pleasant Hill; one sister, Annette (and Phil) Dillinger of Kansas City; one niece, Daniell Friedrich (and Jay Humfield) of Shawnee Mission; one nephew, Trent Dillinger of Kansas City; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded.

Visitation and a memorial service were held Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the funeral home.  Pastor Preston Sanders officiated. Inurnment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Big Creek Baptist Church Building Fund or the Pleasant Hill Animal Shelter and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
