Arlene Caeny

Arlene L. De Caeny, 81 of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Thursday, November 11, 1926 in Rogers, Arkansas, the daughter of William and Millie (Pfeiffer) Kier. She departed this life Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Pleasant Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center.

On September 27, 1941, Arlene was united in marriage to William De Caeny in Olathe, Kansas; he preceded her in death on November 8, 2007.

Arlene worked as a Book Binder for Williams Publishing; she had also worked for the Sunflower Ammunition Plant in De Soto, Kansas. She was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church.

Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son William Victor De Caeny; 1 brother and 4 sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (and Gene) Leach, Baldwin City, Kansas; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 1 brother Dallas Kier of Lee's Summit, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

A funeral mass was held Thursday, March 6, 2008, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, Pleasant Hill. Monsignor Robert Murphy officiated. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas. Casket bearers were D. J. Breitbach, James Holmes, Chris Hummel, Tim Long, Bill Moss, and Donny Thomas.
