Amy Sneed

Amy Louise Sneed, 92, of Pleasant Hill, was born November 1, 1921, in Pleasant Hill, the daughter of Ferd and Lottie (Kincaid) Simon. She departed this life at 11:35 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014, at the John Knox Village Hospice Care Center.

On March 25, 1944, Amy was united in marriage to Joseph F. Sneed in Olathe, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1973.

Amy was employed as a Telephone Operations Manager for the Sunflower/Hercules Ammunition Plant in Clearview, Kansas. She was an active member of the Pleasant Hill Big Creek Baptist Church.

Amy was also preceded in death by one brother Hubert F. Simon; and two sisters, Wilma Thomas and Mildred Allen.

She is survived by one niece Susan Thomas of Simi Valley, California; two nephews, Wm. David (and Julie) Allen of San Clemente, California, and Ronald R. Allen of Kansas City, Kansas; other relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pastor Todd MacLean officiated.

Visitation was held prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Big Creek Baptist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
