Albert Couch

Albert Gene "Al" Couch, 80, of Belton, Missouri, was born Tuesday, February 22, 1933, in Odessa, Missouri, the son of George and Elsie Mae (Willard) Couch. He departed this life at 10:52 a.m. on Friday, August, 2, 2013, at the Belton Research Hospital, surrounded with love and family.

On August 7, 1973, he was united in marriage to Jeannette West in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Al was employed as a welder for the Bendix/Allied Signal/Honeywell Corporation, retiring in 1992. He was a member Laurie, Missouri, and Elks Lodge #2088, Grandview, Missouri.

He was an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors and spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks. He loved dancing, boating, mushroom hunting; most importantly he loved spending time with his family.

Al was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Frank Couch.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years Jeannette; four sons, Harold (and Kelly) Couch of Pleasant Hill, Albert Boyd (and Mary Jane) of Belton, George (and Arla) Couch of Liberty, Missouri, and Jeff (and Jamie) Couch of Harrisonville, Missouri; one daughter Mary J. (and Albert) Couch of Belton; three brothers, Nathan Couch of Brownsville, Indiana, Pete Couch of Oak Grove, Missouri, and Dan of Gravois Mills, Missouri (and Jane) Couch of Gravois Mills; three sisters, Polly Elliott, and Margie (and Jerry) Hook, both of Independence, Missouri, and Georgia Mae Robinette of Oak Grove; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at the funeral home. Visitation was held prior to the service. Reverend Vernon Ray West officiated. Cremation has been accorded. Per Al's wishes his ashes will be spread on his favorite fishing spot at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Crossroads United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
