Abigail "Abby" Lucille Espinoza, 14, of Raymore, Missouri, was born Monday, July 3, 1995 in Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of Henry and Michelle Dawn (Huisman) Espinoza. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 23, 2010 at her home in Raymore.
Abby was an outgoing and vibrant 8th grader at the Ray-Pec Middle School. She was actively involved at the Abundant Life Baptist Church where she was just baptized on April 18. Her hobbies included bowling, downloading from I-Tunes, reading quietly in her room, choir, forensics-a drama club at the middle school, listening to music or watching movies on her I-Pod, Face booking, texting thousands of times in a month to her many, many friends, eating the four basic food groups: chips, candy, popcorn, cookies, activities with her youth group at church, at the Core facility.
She was looking forward to getting her drivers permit and going to church summer camp in June or July. She also participated in track but she didn't continue because it involved exercise and precious time away from her closest friends.
Abby was a serious independent young woman who enjoyed her family and family functions because those normally involved parties and lots of food. She enjoyed large gatherings, being goofy and funny, making her friends laugh, and laughing out loud herself.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Alberto Espinoza, Sr.
She is survived by her parents Henry & Michelle, her brother Jacob and sister Sarah all of the home; paternal grandmother Adelaida Espinoza of Long Beach, California; maternal grandmother Charlotte Huisman of Las Vegas, Nevada; one uncle Albert Espinoza, Jr. of Long Beach; two aunts Gladys Drake of Mesa, Arizona, and Rebeca Campbell of Long Beach; other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the Abundant Life Baptist Church in Lee's Summit. Pastor Jernigan Schwent youth minister of the church officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Eric Campbell, Evan Chiarelli, Albert Espinoza III, Lawrence Huisman, Jerry Lees, and Jason McCamish.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Abundant Life Baptist Church Youth Camp-Scholarship Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
