Roger Earl Rupard, 78, of Pleasant Hill, was born, March 18, 1939, in Canton, Missouri, the son of Leonard E. and Josephine R. Rupard.  He departed this life, Monday, May 15, 2017, at the Pleasant Hill Health & Rehabilitation center.

Roger graduated from high school in 1957.  Following high school he proudly served in the United States Air Force.  Later he attended the Upper Iowa University.

On March 9, 1964, he was united in marriage to Barbara June Gunter in Harrison, Arkansas.

Roger worked as a job estimator for several area construction companies including his own, Rupard Construction and Rupard Asphalt.  Other companies he worked for include Leath & Sons, Superior Utilities, and Wilson Plumbing.  He was elected to the position of Northern District Commissioner for Cass County, MO, in 1976 and 1980.  Roger also served as President of Public Water Supply District #5 for over 30 years.  He was a member of American Legion Post #21, Independence; Jewel Lodge #480 A.F. & A.M., Pleasant Hill, and the Ararat Shrine Temple, Kansas City.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, watching NASCAR, and was an avid reader.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Brooke Rupard.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of Pleasant Hill; one son, Brian Rupard of Holden; one daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Jeff Green of the Lake of the Ozarks; 4 grandchildren, Lindsie (and Aaron) Kee of Holden, Stephen Rupard of Kingsville, Karlie Rupard of Holden, and Brady Rupard of Holden; one great grandchild, Ashton Kee; one brother, Steve (and Joyce) Rupard of Lake Winnebago; two sisters, Barbara Gudger and Nancy Rupard of Texas; other relatives; and friends.

Cremation has been accorded.

A memorial visitation was held Saturday, May, 20, 2017, at the funeral home.  Following visitation Masonic services were held by Mr. Jim Williams of Jewel Lodge #480 A.F. & A.M.  Full military honors were then conducted by the United States Air Force and the V.F.W. Post #3118 Honor Guard.
